peanut
HiI've tried everything in the forums to make email work but nothing seems to be working. Using PHP mail() says the email is sent but I don't receive it. Using SMTP settings, it gets stuck on the spinning wheel. I'm using Google Apps for my email & my domain is hosted at 000webhost.com. I'm using Prestashop Version 1.3.2.3. I'm not a programmer but can follow instructions & make basic changes. Any help will be appreciated. This is one the key things that's putting off my production. Thanks.Tried the following SMTP settings:server: smtp.gmail.com or ssl://smtp.gmail.comencryption: nonePort: 465Have also done the steps given here: http://www.presto-changeo.com/content/9-fix-email-problems

peanut
Please help, this is the only thing I'm stuck at. If email won't work then it's pointless to use prestashop. Is it normal for the password not to be shown after you save the smtp settings in Back Office>>Preferences>>Email?
AlexYao
Pls try to shorten shop name at Back Office > Preferences > Contact. then try again to send email.I have email problem before and try to all solutions in the forum but all in vain. Finally I found the problem is my shop name is too long (i don't think so actually but PS does).I am not sure if this solution help you. Good luck. peanut
Hi AlexYao, thanks but it still doesn't work. I can't seem to make email work at all.SMTP password wont display after saving under preferences in Back office. Is that normal behaviour?
AlexYao
have you try another email address and use PHP function? does your test email work?
peanut
PHP Mail is not working with my webhost (000webhost.com - free account), although they claim it is working, I've tried different scripts it doesn't work & in their forums there are other users having problems too. So PHP mail is not an option for me now. I've tried everything possible with SMTP but it just won't work. I'm thinking it might have to do with SMTP settings somewhere in Prestashop. Test Mail won't work with SMTP. The wheel gets stuck.
