Change Specials Block to a Google Adsense type block

OK, before I mess up everything, how can I change the Specials block so it is another Google Adsense type block?
I don't ever have sales as I dropship my products and the profit margin is pretty small - except on the items I have offered a multiple quantity discount.

I need to be able to add html code to the block so it displays some of my affliliate programs on a separate page, as I don't want to take up too much space at the bottom of each page.
