Use theme 1.6 to 1.7

As the title, I could know if you can use a 1.6 theme on prestashop 1.7, or if you can convert it?

Try convert it, the core of 1.7 have changed. I think you can contact with theme author. Normaly, they will support both 1.6 + 1.7

You cannot use themes coded for PS 1.6. with PS 1.7. The reason is very simple. Prestashop 1.7. is not using anymore smarty templates. PS 1.7. is moving to symfony framework. Although they are not so far, they are different. If you recently bought a theme for PS 1.6. than ask your theme developer if he can give you the theme for free for PS 1.7. If you bought the theme one year ago or it is older, than you should ask if he already has an upgrade and how much it will cost for you.
