Image preference default values

The thickbox_default in Preferences> Images changes the product images aspect ratio. When you click on a product image it it displays the image with the aspect ratio that you have set it the

I don't know what the large_default does. I changed this value as well, but don't see any changes anywhere in the products pages.

My theme doesn't use zoom.

Images in the main image gallery are in large_default, see attached picture. The reason why you didn't see any changes is that those images will be scaled. For example if you adjust the large_default to 200x200, images be in 200x200 after regenerating thumbnails, but they will be scaled up to be about 458x458 there.
