Tanda
Hi I have been following Moonpie's excellent advice on downloading xampp to use a trial version of prestashop but I am now stuck. I am a total novice with this side of things! :red: I get an error page like this: Error 404localhost09/10/2010 16:51:39Apache/2.2.14 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8l mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.3.1 mod_apreq2-20090110/2.7.1 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1 I have downloaded xampp fine but I couldn't do this step of Moonpie's advice: "Check GD library functionality: When I installed xampp, GD Library functionality was already turned on, but you may want to check to make sure before installing PrestaShop. Turn off your servers in the xampp control panel. Open your main xampp file folder. Next open the php folder. Double click on the php5.ini file. Check to make sure extension=php_gd2.dll does not have quotation marks around it. If it does ("extension=php_gd2.dll"), then remove the quotation marks." I can't find the php5.ini file anywhere! Also on the xampp control panel the MySql server says its started but there is no green "running" bar. Could either of these issues be causing the error? I have a website builder package with fasthosts until Feb but I want to change to something I have total control over. Not planning to go live until then and I'm wanting to try out prestashop first before I decide if I should/can transfer over easily. Thanks! :-)
Tanda
p.s. I've noticed that on Xampp status page it says that "IPv6" is deactivated. Could this be causing the problem? Apologies if this has all been raised before but I cant find the info I need when I search the forum. I would be very grateful if somebody is able to point me in the right direction. thanks :cheese:
