Bernrobson
HiI'm a newbie and am struggling to install prestashop on godaddy. I have extracted prestashop on my computer and I have created a Mysql database in godaddy, the database status is 'pending setup'. Do i have to wait until the database status is ready in order to install prestashop. Can anyone give me a step by step guide as to how to install prestashop on godaddyI'm in the hosting control centre and do not know what to do from here.ThanksBern...........................................................waited until database is ready and made sure that i had no ther databases created because it caused a problem for me at step 3. gdinari
Hey Bern,Yes you have to wait to the database you created is not in the pending stage. After its not you really dont need to go into unless you need/want to make some database changes down the line (trust me you will). This is what you have to do to setup/run prestashop with Godaddy (Other hosting companies might be similar):- In the hosting section of godaddy, look at the top menu bar and hover over "Database" and click "Mysql."- Create a database by clicking "Create Database" in up right corner. (For those who didn't know)- After you've created a database wait til its not in the "pending." (This takes no more than 5 mins to clear)- After that, that's all you need to do for now. Continue to the other steps below. *If you need to go into the database, which you will, click "Manage via phpMyAdmin."*Make sure you write down the username and password for the database (the username and database name are the same thing in this case with Godaddy)Other part of the install:- Unzip the prestashop download and upload to your server (you can change the name of the folder from "prestashop" to whatever you want)- Access that folder by putting its url (its physical location) in the web address bar [example: www.yoursite.com/a folder/prestashop folder/]- The prestashop install will start- Fill out the necessary info in each step.- When it gets to the database part, put the name of the database(same as db username), db username (from godaddy), and db password. After that everything should be easy. Good luck and enjoy.
Webd007
it does not work like that on godaddy mate... its so hard to install it on godaddy you don`t know how hard it is to install it. When you create the database you will need to ad some privileges to you db username otherwise it wont work.. you will get a stupid error over and over again.. is very hard
