trusbuy
I am trying to enable the url rewrite of my system, but it seems some problems, following is my actions please check what is wrong for me:1 I go to preference page to enable the url rewriting function by click "yes" option;2 I go to tool page to generate the .htaccess file, but I found some instructions like first enable url rewrite and create a blank .htaccess under dir :/, and there's no "generate htaccess file" button found;3 So I create a blank (totally blank not a word in it) htaccess file under the root change the permission to 666 and click tool tab again;4 Error happens: the website was no more accessible (any page include back office and front office) where error "500 Error - Internal Server Error" was returned;I also tried to do so on my own computer (localhost) and I got the same result, I checked the error log file which show the following information:[sat Oct 02 15:27:07 2010] [alert] [client 127.0.0.1] C:/wamp/www/.htaccess: Invalid command '{\\rtf1\\ansi\\ansicpg936\\deff0\\deflang1033\\deflangfe2052{\\fonttbl{\\f0\\fmodern\\fprq6\\fcharset134', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration[sat Oct 02 17:04:26 2010] [alert] [client 127.0.0.1] C:/wamp/www/.htaccess: Invalid command '{\\rtf1\\ansi\\ansicpg936\\deff0\\deflang1033\\deflangfe2052{\\fonttbl{\\f0\\fnil\\fcharset134', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configurationplease helpThank you very much
Psychodays
you should do what you described in reverse order, step 3 then step 2 then step 1 and that should be ok

B@ndit
I have just had the same issue, so all I did was upload a backup copy of the .htaccess file to server and all was good again. Steven
jeffreyrogers
Due to the apache update, mod_security can no longer be disabled from .htaccess. You need to remove the mod_security entry from your .htaccess file, and then request the support team to disable mod_security on your account.
