Hamilton
Hello all, My existing website is a very simple PayPal button powered site which I intend to replace with Prestashop. However, I need the current website to keep running up until the point of change over. What is the best way to build a Prestashop website in the background, and then have a clean switch over? Usually I would use a subfolder, and then delete the old website and move the subfolder to the root. However, with Pshop, I understand there are more complicated files which might not allow a simple folder move. I also understand that Pshop themes are tied to one domain name? Would this cause any issues or challenges with moving it from a secondary to a primary URL? Seperately, I have successfully installed Prestashop onto a seperate test server to ensure all is working (as I had some "No Input File Found" php errors before). Now that I am sure it works, I just need to know how to switch it over so I can start properly building it in one place. I look forward and appreciate any suggestions! Rhobur
Install it in a sub directory of the root domain, then proceed as Bellini suggests here https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/730490-move-prestashop-from-root-to-subfolder/?do=findComment&comment=2768427 It literally takes a few minutes and you're done, easy peasy.
