No PHP 5.0, now what?

My host doesn't have PHP 5.0 installed on my server. They have PHP 4.5.
Do I have any alternatives other than flushing my prepaid 12 months of money down the drain and switching hosts?

Nope. If you want to use PrestaShop, you will have to upgrade to PHP 5. Otherwise, your only choice is to install an older shopping cart that was designed for PHP 4.

Have you already asked your host? Sometimes they are willing to upgrade the php version for you.

I'm willing to do that. It's going to be a "company store" site, so very limited users, and all of the transactions will be virtual (email notification/paycheck reduction).

Can you point me in the right direction for the process of switching to an older shopping cart?

I've purchased a template from TemplateTuning.com. I assumed I'd just be making changes in Dreamweaver, and uploading it to my firm's server. Alas, I now have my head underwater with all the technical stuff that I was hoping to avoid with a template!
