elavd
I am planning to migrate a 10k product Magento eshop to Prestashop. I have seen the basic settings etc, but then I saw that Prestashop has the re-indexing and cache clearing option, which immediately reminded me of Magento... In my opinion, as a Magento user, the need of reindexing and cache refreshing (in order to see the changes on your catalog) is one of the cons of this platform, and one of the reasons that I am planning to migrate from. So, I am wondering if Prestashop need also often reindexing and clearing of the cache like Magento in order to work well... Any opinion/help is very valuable to me! Thanks in advance!!! Tahsin_85
Hello elavd, you need reindex for the search on head of your page when you add new products. You can do that with cronjob automatically. You need cache refresh if you use cache and change a template to get template changes. El Patron
clear cache is 'hardly' needed 'except' for oddly enough modules generally displaying content on index.php. For example if I change price, cat/prod level is perfectly fine, but it may not (most likely) will not be changed on index.php widgets until cache cleared..... happy migration!
