nemani
Hi, I have a problem with manual correction of Cathegories and Products. I was able to add, modify etc. them at the begining but than I have decided to create the cathegories and products vie csv files. After I have imported them I am not able to do manual change of existing products/cathegories nor add a new one. Could you please help me to fix this? I have no idea what I did wrong here and I really dont want to reinstall the whole thing. Thanks for your soonest answer in advance.
uddhava
When you create categories and products manually then the ID's (both cat and products) are generated randomly. When you import by CSV AND specify the ID's then you get double categories & products OR your current cats & products are overwritten.Whic PS version is this? uddhava
Strange that you cannot edit the existing cats anymore. And you cannot create new ones ???What did you do?
nemani
I have imported the categories and products, but first time I had mixed up the tables. I am not sure if this could cause that kind of problems. I cannot believe thet the only way is to reinstall the whole shop
uddhava
What do you mean "i had mixed up the tables ??Prestashop is very upgrade UNfriendly... And also finding detailed info about the tables in the database is not easy. What you could do is try to truncate the various product / cats tables. But without knowing which tables you need, it can be dangerous. So better to delete all products and categories first. You can do this easily by checking the option "delete all xxxxxxx" in the import CSV screen in the backend. Then you can start all over. I hope you have all your categories saved. If not, try to export them. There is a plugin that can export to csv files.
