aliaspt
Hello!I have surfed and surfed and wasn't able to find an answer to this. I have tried the following:1. Using PHP setting in the back office, I can send test messages from the admin panel (Preferences > Email). But then I get this error in the front end (Contact Us form):"There is 1 error : 1. an error occurred while sending message" When I log in, though, the message are sent and I receive them. 2. I have tried setting it up using SMTP data from my host, but then I wasn't able to send even test messages. The same error occurred in the front end.3. Then I tried making changes according to these instructions: http://www.presto-changeo.com/content/9-fix-email-problems. As a result, there would be no error in the front end but I never got the messages I sent through the form. I can't request from every customer to log in so that they can contact me. How can I fix this? Thanks!
tomerg3
Check with your host if they allow the use of php mail() or if they require you use SMTP
aliaspt
I contacted them and they said they allow both PHP mail and SMTP... Is there no way to fix this?
tomerg3
Are you sure the message you sent (after doing to changes from my site) did not get clocked by a spam blocker?
aliaspt
I receive messages from the test option in the back office. They never went to spam. I'm waiting for my host to reply. They mentioned something like SMTP authentication enabling in the script. I don't know what it means. Does it have anything to do with your changes? Thank you for trying to help. I really appreciate it.
aliaspt
tomerg3, my host created a test PHP mail and it worked. I wonder if they have changed something else because it worked after I added your suggested changes this time (the first two changes). Yay!!! Thanks a lot! aliaspt
Peter, I have no idea why it started working. You may need to contact your host company and see what they say. It could be that my host fixed this for me. I also made the first two changes suggested by Tomer at his Presto-Changeo website. First time, it didn't work. Then I replaced the files with original ones and then made the Presto-Changeo changes second time and it worked. I wish I knew what exactly needs to be done. It's just a trial and error process. Sorry I can't help much. Good luck.
