ServerGuy
On step 3 of the installation im getting an error that says I need to create a database. I am running this all locally on my own server. I have already created a database as well as a new user to use for this database instead of root. I also gave the new user permissions to the database. the values i use on the setup are below.Database Server Name: LocalhostDatabase Name: DB1Login: PSAdminPassword: ******* > (7 characters all alpha numeric)I have changed the server name to the local IP address, the external IP address as well as the domain name. All of which give me an error that the database server cannot be found. When i use local host it tells me that I need to create a database. I have also tried different usernames and passwords for the database. Ive looked through the Forums for this problem but most people are installing this on a hosted site. I am my own host. Does anyone have any ideas? I believe it might be something with MySQL but im not sure what, I also followed the System Administration guide and made the database and users according to this guide. (Although when granting the user permissions to the database it has you put quotes around the DB name, which is not a valid syntax. I tried both ways and without quotes worked)Really would like to get this going so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Patric
Did you try the install with the "root" default user without password? This may allow to know if the problem comes from the created user.
ServerGuy
I initially used the root user when filling out this form and it did not work, I did set a password for the root user but it is a strong password with special character and its 13 characters long. I just tried the root user without a password in the field and it still does not work. I also just again tried the root user with its associated password which still did not work. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Patric
May be you should try "localhost" instead of "Localhost"...
jmwf
Look, I'm really knackered and I'm sorry if this breaks forum rules BUT I just had to say a huge thanks to ServerGuy! I've been trying to get past level 3 for FOUR hours, I thought I'd searched everywhere and then I found 127.0.0.1 and problem sorted. Big (manly) cyber hugs, you saved me from the men in white coats: this is what a forum is all about ...
