How to create a default combinations for each group in combinations/attributes ??

Hi all,

Is there a possibility to add in each combination/attributes group 1 option as the default combination?
So not one default for all groups together?

In my case I have a product that needs to be offered with 2 or more different groups of accessories. Each group has a standard article which is the basic one and should be ordered as a default of the customer doesn’t visit the view page in order to select other options.

Maybe my explanation is a little confusing but I will try to make it clear with an example.

Basic product is a welding machine, without any kind of torches (however it needs to have torches in order o make it work).
So there are 2 groups of torches: TIG torches and Plasma torches. Both have a standard torch (basic 4meters length)that under normal circumstances need to be sold together with the machine. So if the customer doesn’t go to the view page to select other kind of torches (i.e longer ones or with special heads,…) the order will be processed with the standard ones.

In order to make this possibe it shold be possible to check, more than one combination as the default one; so one for each group.

Really hope someone can help me out…

Can you give an link to a product?
The default combination can have attributes from multiple groups.
You can also disable the "Add to Cart" from the product list page for products with attributes

Disabling the 'add to cart button' would already be very useful and would be less confiusing to customers.

The problem I find is that I can only check one default button for the different combinations, so when 2 combinations of each a different group need to be set as default. As soon as I check another combination as default it unchecks the first one.

Sounds like you are not using the attributes correctly.

Each combination MUST have 1 attribute from each group, you can use the Attribute Combination Generator (link it at the top of the combination tab).

All the attribute modules on my site have the option to remove / disable the add to cart button for products with attributes.
They also have an "Attribute Copy" feature.

My error then!

I changed this using the generator. Only now I get the complete list of combinations and I would like to change the default combination, to the combination that it should be. Only this doesn't work when trying to modify the generated combination.

I get the message 'This attribute already exists'; but what I try is just to modify the already existing attribute.

Is there another way to do this?

find the one you want to make default, click edit, tick the checkbox for "Make this the default combination" and Save.

I checked your site and the attributes module that you offer looks just as I need.
What would be great is that each attribute could be selected from the product list, like an option. Because in my case the attributes are not upgrades (like bigger HD, or added wifi) but real existing products in the site. Only they need to be ordered together with the main product, so more like a necessary option.
Even more these options can be ordered separately through the accessories category also.

I don't want to offer them as sets, as that is too static and will give me a problem with stock quantity as the attributes/options are also sold separately.

Also important is that when it is using existing products (with product id) as attribute or option it can be combined with a stock quantity. and can dissable a choice of the customer if the selected option/attribute is out of stock.

Is above posible in any way, standard PS module or your modules (pro or regular).

I believe it should be possible as in your module you can also select accessories (which are separate products) like a printer or a scanner,etc.

You are trying to save an attribute that is already saved.

Try using the default combination editor, that is error proof.
