add to cart on hover not working

hi,

I am using prestashop 1.7.2 and have a problem with the function add to cart. on homepage I have new articles and if I want to add a product to cart on hover function, the cart button is working (circles who are turning), but never add the product in the cart. it turns and turns and turns and never stopps. does anyone know, what the problem is?
