Top menu issue

Hi,
I have a little problem thats bugging me.

I have attached image so you can see. When i hover over a top menu link the background hover image overlaps the next line breaker...which is 2px wide. Is there any way i can stop the hover image doing this.

I have pasted the code below which i think maybe what you need to see. the hover over image is image link you can see.

background-repeat:repeat-x;
