[SOLVED]Hide and Show the shopping cart

Hello i have my shopping cart hooked to the left column, and its on every page of my front office, i need to hide it, and only show it when the customer add something to it, so basically what i need is to hide it in the home page.
Any help guys i am pretty new in prestashop so i need a lot of help

Try doing this. open blockcart.tpl and modify it like this:

<!-- MODULE Block cart -->
 {if $cart_qties > 0} ****** add this line 
 .
 .
 .

 {/if}  ****** add this line 
<!-- /MODULE Block cart -->
