Add custom image for each feature or attribute?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to have the following: I want a product, and for that product have group of features or attributes that can be applied to it, where each attribute or feature is an image? We're going to have products that will have images on them, and rather than create a new product for each image, I would like to have one product type (like a glass), and then they can select a feature or attribute, where each feature or attribute is a graphic that will be put on the glass. Is that possible? Or is it pretty much text only for the attributes and features?

Or, am I going to have to create a separate product for each image? We will end up with thousands of them.

Thoughts?

You can have an image assigned to each attribute

I must be missing something. I've gone through and can't find any way to map an image to an attribute. I thought it might have been through the Image mapping tab, but I can't find a way to map an uploaded image back to an attribute. Any pointers appreciated.

You can have an image assigned to each attribute

Can you please tell steps to do that? I am making an online computer order store and there are in all 15 different systems. Each system is composed of 10-15 different component types like Chassis color, Processor, RAM, HDD, Graphics card, Keyboard, mouse, Operating systems, LCD and other software and accessories. Each of these component can have either a single or multiple images. Like an LCD has 7 images from different angles. Same for keyboard and mouse. I generated one system and Prestashop produced 96 attribute combinations.

How can I attach these different images to the attributes, so that when our end customer changes an attribute (Computer component), it's corresponding image(s) are shown on screen.

And suppose I introduce one extra option in the system, say an option to choose a 3D LCD screen, then what would be the best way to insert it in present all combinations of all of 15 systems. This 3D screen will also have around 7 images with it. How can I attach images to this new LCD without disturbing earlier combinations?

Any suggestion from anyone?

Zenith why would you make such a vague comment without any real assistance? It doesn't sound like the first poster received any help...the second poster was totally ignored and now I have the same question. Isn't part of answering a post on a forum to help provide a solution if you know what it is?

So...does anyone have the proper steps to adding images to a combination?

What I want to do is have an image appear as a rollover when a visitor to my store chooses an option for their purchase, i.e. when someone wants to add a drawer to their desk and they choose the attribute for the drawer choice, an image appears that shows them what the drawer looks like.

Here is an example of a site that I am trying to emulate - when you choose an option for Pedestals the image pops up...I want to create the same effect: http://sd-office.com/i-7442783-boss-60-office-managers-l-shape-desk.html
