no carriers available that will deliver to address

I have justed started using prestashop. I have been putting my shop together and all seemed well until in the cart payment box when trying to pay for an item said no carriers available to this address. I have been trying to put Royal Mail in the backshop which looked ok but I cannot save it in the default carrier section as there is nothing in the. drop down to choose.I REALLY need someone to help me from the start to the finish of entering a carrier. I hope someone will have the patience to help me.
