"Simple" Footer Question

I am trying to remove the vertical bar before the "Contact Us" and center the copyright.
I am not very good at programming so i am having hard time to do this.

If can anyone could share this it would be great.

Edit modules/blockvariouslinks/blockvariouslinks.tpl and change:

<a href="{$base_dir_ssl}contact-form.php" title="">{l s='Contact us' mod='blockvariouslinks'}

to:

<a href="{$base_dir_ssl}contact-form.php" title="">{l s='Contact us' mod='blockvariouslinks'}

This might be a dumb question but how do i put a © symbol in my footer, I tried the alt 0169 trick but it displays a diamond and a question mark in side? Thanks for your help
