PS 1.6 the best version yet?

I haven't upgraded to 1.7 although I have played with it, I still have all my shops running on 1.6 and to me that's the best release yet. Sort of like with Windows, every so other version were great, but not all of them. Is has a nice theme, loads fast and is easy to troubleshoot.

What versions do you guys like the most, or have found out to be the best one to work with?

For me and many people  1.6 is indeed better.

But there are also people who love the 1.7 programming environment so much that they will disregard that it is less stable. But of course it depends on your point of view. Some people like systems like Symfony babysitting them. Others hate all the extra fluff and like to see more straightforward code like in 1.6.

Note also that 1.7.3 is a rather big step from 1.7.2 where 1.7.0-1.7.2 were quite similar. It is still not clear to me how much extra trouble that gives.

I concur, to each its own and at the end stick to whatever works. In my case I was happy running 1.4 but I migrated to 1.6 only because of the theme, which was responsive and mobile friendly. I have been 2+ years with 1.6.1.10 and works like a charm.

There is no way I will be changing to a new version any time soon. Far too many hassles 9costs) with compatability with our systems. Next upgrade will come from the next generation of staff in our business, not me
