adibranch
Hi All, using prestahsop with the stock google checkkout mod. We've approached google about getting the checkout buttons listed on our adwords and google base listings. They require the google checkout button to be BEFORE the sign up/register pages in the checkout process... ie on the shopping cart page. Now i know this is standard on a couple of other google checkout mods, but the prestashop one doesnt seem to work this way. Is there a workaround, or a third party checkout mod which achieves this?(Google is a PITA.. as bad as paypal for rules and regs).
MrBaseball34
Modify your blockpaymentlogo and place your button code there and enable the block and hook it to the left column. That satisfies their requirements.
adibranch
thanks for that. But do i need to create a unique button for each individual item? or can i transfer the cart info directly to tbe button in the template somehow?
MrBaseball34
No, You only need the one. The button in your cart will satisfy it too.
adibranch
okay thanks.. but does the template based google button not have to be active? ie take the cart contents into google to satisfy the requirements?I'm not sure how to go about creating that

FireHawk
I have just placed my google acceptance logo into position but it doesn't quite fit properly, cutting off the far right of the logo.Any ideas on how to make it a little smaller? Here's my code that i had to paste in..."script src='https://checkout.google.com/buttons/logos?merchant_id=343749029912307&loc=en_GB&f=png' ></script"Altered slightly using "" to show it as it removes it from here. You can see it at www.qtmdirect2u.co.ukI just need to make it fit the space correctly.Cheers in advanceChris
FireHawk
Google have accepted my acceptance logo placement but are now asking for their google button to be placed before registration.I think it would look silly if it was placed directly below the acceptance logo so is there a better position for it?Also, can i use the disabled button or do i have to use the working button as it won't be tied into an item so i don't really understand how that would work? FireHawk
I really need some help and advice on this. I am missing potential sales not having the Google button placement and the Google adwords badge.I have placed the google acceptance logo fine in the blockpaymentlogo.tpl - Google say that's fine. But they want a Google button before registration so that customers don't need to sign up for my website.I am really struggling to find out how to acheive this and exactly what and where to put any code required. Please could someone help?CheersChris
FireHawk
I am still looking for some kind of an answer on this please....pwity pweese On a slightly different note...If i alter the code so that site registration is not required. If someone checks out as a guest and pays with paypal of google checkout, does there order and address information get passed back into prestashop?I am thinking of upgrading to the newer prestashop version to get guest checkout option but i am worried that the info i need on an order wont be held within the program.
