cupandacu
Hi all,I am new to Prestashop but am currently running an online store that a developer created for me(not in Prestashop platform). After much research I chose Prestashop for my next store, which I wish to develop on my own. It seemed to make the most sense for a beginner such as myself. It is installed and I have managed to get a theme installed. My objective is to be able to create something like http://www.archiduchesse.comIts a beautifully simple site(in appearance at least :-) )! Please check it out to see what I am talking about.I would like some guidance in the early stages of my journey. I have very basic knowledge of html and css. After much reading I also have a basic understanding of how Prestashop is set up with themes, modules etc. Thats about as far as my knowledge extends. I am in a situation where I dont know what I dont know so am having trouble directing my efforts. For someone like myself. Where should I start? What would the recommended steps be so that I can reach the level where I can create http://www.archiduchesse.com?I know these are broad questions....Any help would be much appreciated! tomerg3
A good place to start would be this book http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/59350It covers everything in Prestashop, and it's geared towards getting your shop set up and having your first sale in 7 days. The forum is your new best friend, make sure to search it well, since many many questions have already been answered. cupandacu
Thanks for the tips tomerg3.I will have a look through this book!I am getting familiar with html, css and dreamweaver as I believe all of these will be crucial when I eventually get around to creating themes myself. What else can you recommend I focus on at this point in time?Cheers! tomerg3
Having a clear plan of how you want your site to work, category and product structure, learning the field (who is your competition, how many of them are there, paid keyword prices), figure out your marking plans.
