jhnstcks
Its the delay of the search engines. It will change eventually as they don't change immediately, only when they next crawl that particular page.
andyr73
But i think this category has been changed for about 2-3 weeks now surely it should of gone of by now
jhnstcks
Deppends when the google or whichever search engine it is last crawled the page. Try submitting the page to Digg, Reddit or some other social network bookmark site, that should get some interest in the page.
Timpet
You can try to add some links to the category to speed up the indexing of it. Allso try to see the catch version of the site.
andyr73
Would you recommend buying the SEO module from prestashop would this make a dramatic difference or not as i really need to get this site further up the page in google. Also for some strange reason if you type in a keyword to google why does it bring up my home page higher up in the search engines rather than the category pageYou are very helpful moderatorThanks
andyr73
timpet please explain what you suggest me to domany thanks
Timpet
The SEO module wont help bring you higher up, only hard work will. You can look at one of the other treads regarding SEO, and ways to do it.NO module alone can raise to ranking in google!
jhnstcks
What Timpet is suggesting is to add some internal links around your site directing to the category you want updated. For example you could createan editorial for your homepage and include links to your category on there.
Timpet
Or external, perhaps from this forum, like in my signature. Have go and klik them.
jhnstcks
Google has already indexed this post and included it in its serps so the 2 links in the first post will already have been spotted by google.Andy I have just had a look around your site, looks good, the only comment I would make is that to trade in UK you are required by the Distance Selling Regulations to provide an address from where you trade from. Timpet
Create link beat, meaning that you create something that people what to link to your site about. It could be top 10 ugly people or what ever. Even better create something that has'nt bin seen before. Or you could do something like the woman who posted the wrong box on facebook telling the whole world what a great sleepover she had.Basicly it more or less comes down to links (both external and internal) and keywords.Find a couple of good linking catalogs and add your website to them. When doing so look for the pagerank, the higher the better it is for your site.
