cheapbeds
HiI am new to Prestashop and I am currently having some issues installing a new theme. I have decided to use the black and white theme, as downloaded from:http://www.prestastore.com/templates-prestashop/757-blackawhite.htmlHowever, as stated, I am having some trouble installing the theme. When I upload the black and white folder, found in the theme folder of the download, Prestashop simply displays a radio button and the text ‘black and white’, with no thumbnail, even though everything has been uploaded to the themes folder. When I apply the theme, it appears that no CSS or formatting is applying to the website, in which I have to revert back to original default theme.I have attached a couple of screen shots to demonstrate what I mean.Any help or instructions would be appreciated.RegardsAndrew

theme_designer
To install a Prestashop theme, you should upload the entire folder of your theme to the "themes" directory in the folder that PrestaShop resides in.Once you have done that, login to the admin area of your shopping cart and go to Preferences -> Appearance. In this menu, select the newly uploaded theme from the list of available themes and press the "Save" button.

cheapbeds
HiThanks for all of the replies, however, I am still having the same issue as described above. These are the steps I am taking:1) Uploading the ‘blackwhite’ folder found in the themes folder of the download to the themes folder online via ftp.2) Logging into the back office, clicking preferences > appearance. 3) All I see here is the default Prestashop theme, and a radio button with ‘blackwhite’ wrote twice, as shown in the image in my first post. After I apply the theme, the website becomes unformatted as shown in the second image. If anyone could spot what I am doing wrong, it would be appreciated.I am using prestashop Version 1.3.1.1 if that is any help.RegardsAndrew

cheapbeds
HiI initially had the same problem as you are having, but mine was with the 'Moon' theme. Permission change didn't solve that problem, so I changed the theme.Ensure your theme is compatible with your version of prestashop first. To change the folder permissions use you FTP client. (I use file zilla, so it may be different for you). Right click on your remote folder, choose file attributes, and you should be able to change relevant permissions from there. As I say, this was done in filezilla, so it may be slightly different for you.Hope this helps.
