Adding product data to all languages at once

I've just added some products in the Back Office.

However, some of the information is not being saved to all the languages. When I edit the product info, only the English fields change.
How can I make it change all languages at once, without having to type it all in again and again?

You have to click on the flag (next to any of the fields you want to edit), that will change to that language, and let you enter the text for it.

Yes, but that means typing in the same data for each language. For instance, I changed the name of some of my products, and found that only the English name had changed.

It seems that the only way to do it is to import from a spreadsheet, as this data goes into all languages.

A bit of a kludge, just to do a global change.

How do you expect prestashop to know what the translations should be in other languages?

It's the same text. There is no translation.

And, as I say, when you import from a CSV file, Prestashop puts the text into all languages anyway!

What's the point of having multiple languages if they have the same text?

It will actually hurt your site's ranking in search engines, since the pages will look very similar if not identical.

I publish sheet music.
The name of the product (the title of the music) is the same in any language, for example.
The short description is an abbreviated list of the instruments used, that is also universal.

Yes, the full description will be different.

When you create the product, either in the BackOffice, or by importing a spreadsheet, the name goes into all langs. It would be nice if you could apply a change to all langs.
Perhaps this is a special case that no one else wants to do. In which case, I'll use the spreadsheet.
