Adding items not contained in catalog into order

Hi, anyone came across this creepy one idea? I have shop where I am not able to add all what customers might want to get at the moment, so although I'll be periodically adding products into catalog I'm questioning if there might be way to add any items into order on top of customer's custom order. This way I won't have to make two rows of invoices - one from shop and one from these orders.

There is a module for modifying orders, look in the Third-Party Modules forum.
