Max B
Any advice/help is appreciated. Every few weeks/months my "LOCALIZATION" settings are being automatically reset. This means my localization setting, country (enable country), currencies - are all automatically DISABLED every few weeks. I've lost a ton of sales because of this issue, so I'm really grateful if anyone could help.
El Patron
this smells of hosting cache....I recommend contacting your hosting and see if they can help and if they are using some sort of caching. do you have any caching set bottom of your performance page?

I thank you dearly for your prompt response and apologize for my delayed one. These are my cache settings under "performance". Is it possible that any of my settings forces my Localization settings to reset automatically every time there's a modification or every few weeks? Or would it be a problem on the server side? - By the way, I own 2 websites under the same hosting service (godaddy) and settings were reset on both websites. El Patron
I do not recommend using 'file system cache'...unless when working in back office you turn it off. I used to have free module that would warn in bo file cache active, so it could be disabled while working in back office...and the reverse, when off it would prompt to re-enable when you are done with admin changes.. so when working in back office turn off file system cache. also WTF PRESTASHOP WITH HAVING TO SELECT NOTIFY ME OF REPLIES AS 'NO' DEFAULT.....IDIOTS! WAY TO RUIN THE COMMUNITY

El Patron, thank you for kindly responding to my question!! I want to clarify, when I work in my back-office, I should switch the caching type to MySQL? And when I finish working in my back-office, should I switch back to File System? Thank you!

With regards to "LOCALIZATION" settings automatically being reset every few weeks/months - should I contact GoDaddy to see whether they automatically refresh their servers? you can ask them if they are running a cache you 'do not see', like varnish. explain to them you are running ecommerce and cache can create unpredictable results in cart process. also consider if using shared to move to vps....I recommend Liquid Web storm managed vps's or dedicated but i do not know your local at the end of day....ecommerce is 'not static' content....hosting is set up for wordpress....which is static and does not fall over when cache used. all should also heed this warning: module cache's in ps eco...WILL BREAK YOU SHOP....do not use voodoo....use faster hardware. Cheers, el

Guest
@El Patron Could you clarify your comment: "module cache's in ps eco...WILL BREAK YOU SHOP" Are you talking about the prestashop caches or the 3:rd party cache modules you can buy?

The really should be outlawed from ps addons. Taking a cache concept built for static data (blog cms's) and using in a non-static ecommerce system....will/does create unpredictable results... this goes for ALL cache solutions including cdn's unless you really know what you are doing......in PS what is static? 'very little'....some cms pages 'maybe'.... what cache do I recommend? php opcache....everything else cache related in www is blog oriented. so if you are running a cache module.....don't...if you are considering a cache module or other 3rd party cache...just don't lol IMHO voodoo cache techniques has ruined many businesses and they don't even know that's what did it. I think my host does use varnish.
