Cart Abandament

Hi all im new to this forium and have been using Prestashop for my website. I have searched the forium and cant find anything on Cart Abandament so though I would start one.

Now for those who dont no cart abandament is when a customer adds products to there cart or starts the checkout process and then leaves before they have completed the transaction.

Now from experience I have not had many customers who have started to fill our the order process, address and delivery details and then not continued to the payment section but what I do get is alot of carts where they have not placed the order at all.

Now my question is on Prestashop if you go to customers tab in back office and then click carts you can see all the items that have been put in a shopping cart and then have not completed the process to a sale. This morning alone I have 11 of these abandanded carts.

Can only people who are on your website add products to carts or can this happen by other ways, say google when indexing a website etc?

Is it normal to have hight carts in prestashop that didnt lead to a sale?

Any comments on this will be gratefull, lookforward to your replys.

Hi everyone, just a quick update. I have been looking at express checkout, this basicaly make the checkout process only one page long so that the customers does not need to go through about 3 pages to complete a order.

Has anyone installed this on there shop and found it to increase sales and reduce cart abandament.
