I can't be sure, but I think all you need to do is move the files in the /prestashop_1.0/ to the home directory and than go to

the admin backend > Preferences and in general, change the "PS directory" value to just "/"

Never done this myself, so hope this helps!

Two options:

1) download all your files & then re-upload them into the root. You may also need to modify the configuration to reflect the new pathway.

2) Use .htaccess to redirect everybody from / to /prestashop_1.0/ ... this takes a bit more knowlege. In addition, if you don't want customers to see the foldername, then you'd need to create your own .htaccess rewrite rules. First option is easier, second option is faster if you know .htaccess mod-rewrite rules. All the best!
