Program glitch on client setup

Hi everyone

I am running PS16.0.1 and have hit a program glitch which is causing me a lot of problems.  Recently I have received some orders ( France, UK) from members of the public and the invoices have been zero rated for VAT/IVA!   I have checked their client details and have found that they have, in error, typed something in the Empresa/Company box.  In one case it was just the word "Mr".  The mere fact that they have typed some characters into this box has caused the program to consider them a registered EU company and therefore exempt from VAT/IVA.  That strikes me as a huge problem.  Surely the program should require more information than the input of any random characters.  We are losing 21% on these orders and it´s very difficult to ask a client to pay a second charge particularly when the root cause of the issue is frankly inexplicable!   I can´t be the only person to have experienced this.  Is there a way of correcting it or eliminating the Empresa/Company tickbox and thus avoiding the problem?
