Ryan M
Combination imports did not work for us and the Forum said an upgrade should resolve. The upgrade failed with the following message and now the Admin site is not fully functional and we cannot rollback. What can we do?? EDIT: The 1-Click Upgrade was used for this and installed the latest MAJOR version with no other choice. It should install the most recent STABLE version, 1.6.1.18 Analyzing the situation...Shop deactivated. Now downloading... (this can take a while) Download complete. Now extracting... SLiCK_303
Do you have a backup of your site? In other words, you should have a copy of your whole site on your computer, the files, and a sql export. Assuming you have those, just upload your files to your site, and do an import of your sql. Ryan M
Thank you! I just noticed that I posted this to the PrestaShop Download thread. We are on the hosted version I believe. Sorry!
TiaNex Shopping
anyway, you should backup all the database and website files before upgrade , if you don't have a backup, you should do it now, then try to find the problem and upgrade
bellini13
Unfortunately there is not much you can do AFTER the fact. Its a hard lesson to learn, but you really should do some research into you to properly upgrade and test first. The upgrade documentation on the Prestashop website would have warned you to ensure you have fully backed up your store before the upgrade. And I cannot stress this enough... Never rely on the backup options of the upgrade module... I think you now know why...
_mik
If it's not too late, if your server make snapshots of the data, perhaps you can try to restore one of them.
Ryan M
The administrator was able to rebuild certain modules that were damaged. The big issues I found are: 1. Prestashop does not work well AT ALL with Chrome and Firefox should be used. 2. The CSV import is still terrible ... we could barely import 20 Combinations at a time. It took 65 upload files to complete our data. Thanks for the help!!

Prestashop actually works really well with Chrome. As well as with Firefox and IE. I'm not a big mac user, both I suspect Safari is fine too Now you could be using a custom theme, which was NOT designed properly. And if that is the case, that is an issue with your theme designer, and has nothing to do with Chrome
rbuelund
I get the exact same error when trying to 1-click update from 1.6.1.17 to 1.6.1.18 ?? Had to fallback to a manual back as the rollback function does not work either - this is pretty bad ! No changes on the server and 1-click upgrades has worked so far - so what is going on here ??
