Tried it on php7.2. It's better as this time you can actually install presta, but after that it seems to have the same problems as 1.7.2.4. After deleting /install directory and trying to manage my new store admin page doesn't load (just standard broken connection page after a while) and admin directory doesn't get its unique name. Apache log shows some errors for that:

Also there's some problem with count() function, but just a warning so it doesn't stop installation:

Front office seems to work ok, despite count() warnings and each() function being depreciated, but there's no access to admin.

It seems php7.2 doesn't like this "generating secret for digest authentication". Can anyone check if anything simillar happens for php7.1?

Unfortunately tons of things have still not been fixed that have been broken since Version 1.6.1.12 and upwards. After Every Update i need to go back and fix issues like the contact page won't let anybody send a message anymore, Available quantity in Stats does not update when selecting a category and so on...tons...These have been issues forever but it seems like nobody cares.

It's not presta's fault that you're using old themes that doesn't support some new features. Presta itself and its original theme works perfectly fine. It got safety protocols in contact form (I believe it was in 1.6.1.17) which are always a good thing. If you can't handle implementing this in your old theme then you should hire someone who does. It's just a matter of adding short code to your contact-form.tpl. There's some guides about that on the forums.

As for php7.2 it's common case for almost every CMS that it doesn't work completely fine on this version due to more strict standards and some functions depreciated. But it works perfectly fine on php 5.6 or even 7.0-7.1. So does presta 1.6.1.18. I've just found a minor bug in 1.6.1.17 in product sorting in categories, which is there probably from the beginning, but it doesn't affect most users and it's fixable with 1 line of short code.

Nice joke, still laughing but lets keep at the facts. Stats->Available Quantity has nothing to do with a theme. So don't say stuff that is not correct. By the way, i have tested it with the original theme and send email does not work. It stopped working at 1.6.1.15 i believe. Don't write stuff that is not true.

Did you read something in the change log that it would support PHP 7.2?  No... so I would suggest using PHP 7.0 or 7.1 instead, which are supported.  Then you can use the PS forge to submit a new ticket to Prestashop, requesting support for PHP 7.2.  Prestashop does not reply to bugs and enhancements on the community forum

Note: You can manually rename the admin folder and access the back office.
