Display each combination / colour as a separate product?

But they would all be linked back to the same original product, is this possible? I want to show all colours on the main page because I think I'm losing sales due to people thinking the product only comes in one colour.

You could add the different colours as accessories so you can see all the related products.

Hi Rocky, I just checked the "Accessories" drop-down and it doesn't show any colours, just the main products.

I don't think this would work for me anyway because the main problem is I have a product with say 6 colours, but the main picture might be only of the black version. Is there any way around this? The alternative is to duplicate the product 6 times but then it creates a bit of a maintenance overhead...

So you want the one product with multiple colours available as attributes, but to have all the available colour options displayed in the product listing page? There is no easy way to do that. You'd need to modify a few PHP files and product-list.tpl to do it. Loading the attributes of all products on the product listing page would also slow down the loading of the product listings page.

I've created a work-around whereby I insert "Multiple Colours Available!" in the Categories page next to any product with multiple colours. I guess that will have to do for now...

I am very interested in this function as well, but want more than just 'more colours available'

 

What I am looking for is some way to specify when there are multiple products of the same type and show colour swatches which link to the respective products. Ideallylooking like the colour selector that exists for the colour attributes.

 

I was thinking of ideas around created a new colour attribute but can't really work out how it could be done.

 

Anyone have any ideas?
