poppo101
I am looking at replacing my current cart system. I have a few requirements for the replacement. I have looked at the demo however, I don't see these features or just haven't found out how to find them. I need the following features.1) Real time shipping with the US Postal Service and UPS. I need to be able to charge shipping based upon the actual weight of all the items that are ordered. I only sell one product however it comes in three sizes therefore three different weights. Which leads me to my next requirement. With USPS shipping, I utilize the flat rate priority mail boxes when ever possible. I know the total weight that each size box will handle based on the product size. Therefore I can say for the small box 0-x pounds will fit. For the medium box x-y pounds will fit and for the large box y-z pounds will fit. I also offer parcel post and UPS shipping as well for all weights2) I need to setup an option for size. This option needs to adjust the price based upon the size chosen and also the weight of the item.3) I would also like to be able to assign a minimum order quantity for the item if the customer chooses a non-stock size or color. Not sure if any cart offers this.4) I also want to be able to set a minimum dollar amount for the order.I don't want to have to setup a different product for each size and color. I have three sizes and six colors. So therefore I have eighteen variations for the same item.Looks like I wouldn't have to with Ubercart.I apologize if any of these functions exist and I just overlooked them in my review of the software. Thanks,Bill
tomerg3
1) I just released a Fedex module that does that, UPS and USPS will follow soon.2) You can use attributes for that, if you look at the demo, the iPod has 2 different attribute groups (Color / Disk Space) and many different Attributes (black, blue, green, etc).3) Can be done, but will have to be customized.4) That's an option in the backoffice -> Preferences -> Minimum purchase total required in order to validate order:There's a very good Prestashop book that I'm sure will be of great help, it covers all the important parts of preatshop http://www.amazon.com/PrestaShop-Beginners-Guide-John-Horton/dp/1849511144/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1281595199&sr=8-
poppo101
Some background –I print and sell scratchpads clipart printed on them. The standard size for them is small. I want to offer the customer the option of ordering them in to other sizes – medium and large. Ordering them in medium and large affects both the cost and the weight of the item. Also, since the medium and large are not my standard size, I want to set a minimum order quantity for the item. Not the whole order, just the item. I also offer the choice of six ink colors that do not affect the price. However, again if the customer orders a color other what the particular item is printed in, I want to set a minimum order quantity for the item. I don't want to have to setup a different product for each size and color. I have three sizes and six colors. So therefore I have eighteen variations for the same item.
