smab
I'm a newbie to Prestashop trying to install it following "PRECISE" documentation and apart from major disasters via XAMPP (I gave up on Bitnami and Apache Friends and their forums and lack of support or help) and ended up using MAMP this is now the furthest I have got in 8 days YES 8 DAYS so much for 5-10min install. I am using a 13"MBPr (mid 2014) MacOSX 10.12.6 MAMP 4.2.1 And "TRYING" to install your latest version of Prestashop 1.7.2.4 On the test your database section, the installation becomes stuck.Database Server is not found. Please verify the login, password and server fields (DbPDO)I'm a student trying to evaluate the software for a course credit. I had initially 2 weeks to do it in, which now has took 8 days to get this far. I was also suppossed to do it with XAMPP according to the brief but that was why 8 days later I'm here with MAMP. GREAT SOFTWARE AND HELP PRESTASHOP! seems no direct instructions for Mac users not even on youtube. This is my last ditch with this now, if i don't get a reply from anyone soon I seriously will just pack up and leave and report my experiences to whoever will listen and make sure I find an alternative way to do things other than ever use this software again. SLiCK_303
you need to have a username and password associated with the DB, root for the username and blank for the pw is not going to work
smab
I done all that, your software is buggy as hell, I HAVE FOLLOWED TO THE LETTER YOUR DOCUMENTATION! I stopped the servers, restarted like I have done like a million times over the last 8 days and it went past the it it was stuck? Then just miraculously decides to load. WHY AFTER 8 days? It has been the same thing I have been doing in XAMPP with absolutely no joy and NO HELP from anywhere, the exact very same thing! NO like magic it works "ALL OF A SUDDEN?" unsticks finds the database and then it crashed step on the next step. I click re-attempt install and then it went through. Then (GROAAAAN!) It said my email and password was incorrect to log-in, I retried and then it works? Miraculously. WHO BUILT THIS CRAP! CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A FULL EXPLANATION OF THIS? As it makes me look stupid, which I'm not, 8 days of frustration, I have to explain all this to my tutor if I'm even still on the course because of this c!@t of a software. Do you realise how stressful this has been and I have a ton of other assignments to do for another Graphics Course I'm doing, which to be honest is alot more enjoyable than you backend people making things overly complicated and unexplainable sitting in a darkend room with your {curly brackets}. Well after this WebDev Course I'm staying in the light and breathe some fresh air and watch the clouds float gently by with the sun on my face. F!@K this s!@t explain what the hell has happened? I at least deserve that. I can inbox a ton of screenshots from what was going on in XAMPP DO YOU KNOW HOW ANGRY I AM RIGHT NOW! AND don't even ask me to rate your Software. I will be spreading this experience far and wide to whoever will listen, 8 days of not sleeping before 4am pfffft Just be glad whoever owns developed this s!@t isn't in front of me I would have ironed him out. Excuse my expletives but I am livid, I FOLLOWED YOURS AND MY TUTORS INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER! He had a cheek to even say it was my Mac.
smab
There not in order but you get the gist. I seriously think you should do something about this because it's a crying f!@King joke, wher people could have got hurt. I seriously seriously feel quite murderous right now Just dreading to go sleep now, wake up and it stops working again, i wouldn't bet against it NOT happening Edited January 18, 2018 by smab (see edit history)
