Vakarelov
Do we have any statistics about what environments are most or often used to host prestashop sites? I am developing a module that may require additional php extinctions, and/or calling python scripts. It would be great to know what portion of users are on manged hosting environments that may prohibit such operations. Similarity, it will be useful to know what portion of uses host with php5, php7 or hhvm. Any info?
bellini13
Possibly Prestashop might know some metrics, but i highly doubt they would share them publicly.
Vakarelov
I was hoping that Prestashop would provide some information here. It may be very important for some developers what portion of the market may not be able to use a module because of restrictive hosting environments. Vakarelov
I just exhaled A natural followup would be: As a practical advice, is it worth putting a lot of effort trying to support merchants that cannot make changes to the server, beyond what is needed for prestashop. Basically, I am trying to avoid a solving problem that may not exist.
bellini13
I would say most merchants are incapable of making changes to their servers. But what are we discussing exactly?
