Thx, I thought some dir/files can be more secured after installation.

You should use chmod 755 for directories and chmod 644 for files. Some hosts don't work unless you use chmod 777, which is not secure.

Is it valid for all files and directories or are there exceptions ??

I think it should work for all files. The PrestaShop instructions do say to use chmod 666 on the .htaccess file though.

can someone please describe the exact reason that there is the 777 755 problem on some servers? i've yet to figure out why that might be.
