bigip
Today Hostgator completely shut down my site and here is the explanation:I apologize, but I was forced to suspend the script "/******/****/*****/product.php" as it was causing a high load on the server, and due to it affecting all of the other accounts on the system, I forced to take immediate action for the health of the server. Unfortunately I do not have any specific recommendations for this script, however, in general, adding some sort of caching mechanism, where the script does not need to generate a new page with every request, helps to lower the over load that a script will cause. Likely the original author or support group of the software that you are using will be able to help you to understand how to add something of this nature. After contacting them they restored my site but not the products pages. Hostgator support told me they 'll enable them after I fix this issue. They suggested I turn the cache on. How can I turn product cache on and prevent this from happening again?Thank you for your help!
bigip
just found this post http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/43629/general_discussion/solving_cache_problems_dot_which explains hot to turn cache on.So advice for everybody using hostgator is to enable cache, otherwise you are risking HG shutting down your site. tekneto
I got this same message from Hostgator. Which pages did you modify to get the server load down? I read the link you posted but not sure which files to edit. Did you notice a decrease on the load after the change? Thanks!

tekneto
Actually I followed the instructions in the link above and it seem to cause problems with the search feature and some product links. I since put the files in question back to the default. I followed these instructions http://www.nethercottconstructions.com/content/1-performance-tips and it appears to have helped with no additional errors. This was done running Version 1.1.0.
