Images no longer loading

Hello! I am in need of help and do not know where to look. Four years ago I purchased a turn key website on ebay. It is a Prestashop website. The person who set it all up is now missing and unresponsive to my support tickets for over two months. He also hosted my product images (approx 10,000 products). His website domain has expired and my images that were hosted on his site no longer work on my site. The php database looks filled with many errors (from what I can tell, I dont understand it too much).

I have a backup of all images but I dont know how to go into my cpanel and point to my new images. His other website domain that hosts my entire website will expire in March. Since he is unresponsive I feel I need to act quickly otherwise I will lose everything. So even if I get everything working I need to move to a different hosting company. I could upload each image for each product individually through my prestashop backend, but that would take forever

That said my question is:

* How can I point the database to look for my images that I host elsewhere, instead of the dead links from his expired domain?

I am thinking now it might be easier if I create an all new website from scratch with my own hosted images and upload all my products with csv file so I dont have to rely upon the site that was created for me.

Any ideas, thoughts or tips would truly be appreciated!
