SEO with sub domains in the URL

I'm not sure what difference it'll make using category.domain.com vs www.domain.com/category *in terms of SEO* but it'll
be developmentally easier to not use the subdomain method. I say this because your DNS admin will need to create a
subdomain for every category you're going to create if you go that route. It's not hard to do this, but could become tedious if
you have a lot of categories.

cat.domain.com is in google terms not placed on the same domain as www.domain.com/cat (as fare as i know) i think this would damaged the SEO, because it would more or less destroy internat link building. But im not sure.

Hi,
I would also like to have subdomains as categories. Did anyone managed to make something like that work ?

I ve found this module :
http://www.prestastore.fr/referencement-seo/1173-categories-as-subdomains.html

Did anyone already test it ?

My utimate goal is to have a differente theme by domain, I ve found this great module :
http://www.prestastore.fr/fonctionnalites-front-office/1234-theme-by-domain--un-theme-par-domaine.html

But first, I need to set up the sub domains :P

Thanks a lot !
