joope
How do I change this "url cms.php?id_cms=11"? I don't want it to show the number when I go from page to page. Thanks!
mytheory.
Are you referring to only CMS pages? Or your entire site?If its for your entire site you can enable Friendly URLs... sometimes, there are numbers in the URL, for instance for a product it would use the Friendly URL but there might be a number before the text which might signify its category group. For CMS pages, the URL (with Friendly URLs enabled) look "nicer" but I noticed that it still places the number of the CMS page ID before the text URL. So the formatting ends up something maybe like this: http://www.mysite.com/content/6-secure-paymentI don't know if this helps...HTH!
joope
Actually turned on the friendly urls and it took away some of my pictures and my site took forever to load up. I thought I saw an .htaccess file loaded up with prestashop. Now do I need to put an .htaccess file in the root directory for the friendly urls to work? mytheory.
yes, once you enable friendly urls in the BO, you need to generate a .htaccess file through the BO. (Tools tab >> Generators >> Htaccess file generation). If you had a .htaccess from previously, maybe for url redirects or rewrites, make sure to back that up. I would recommend changing that file (the existing one) to old.htaccess or something other than .htaccess. Then generate an htaccess file for PS through the BO... then once that file is created, copy and paste whatever else you had from the original htaccess file into the new one that was generated by PS.If you don't have an existing htaccess... just have PS generate one for you. And yes, the .htaccess file needs to be in your root directory folder.HTH!
mytheory.
Oh and I should mention (although you probably already know this) that .htaccess/friendly urls only works on Apache servers. Your SOL if your on an IIS server. FYI...
