Editing email templates

Hi

I am trying to edit the email templates i.e. email sent to user when they create an account in my prestashop 1.7 store.  I can edit the email in the back office under translations but the user still receives the default email, changes I made in the back office do not reflect when the email is sent to the user.  I also tried editing the html email files in the server in emails folder but still no reflection of the changes made when the email is sent to the user.  Please help out.

 

Can you also point me to how I can force users to add phone number field in the account registration form?
