automatic create xml file on new order

I wondering if it possible to  create and export a xml of the order to a folder, like if someone is making a order.
I have the status " Processing in progress " and at the same time  generate a xml file of the order.
And send the xml to a folder on the server.

I whant to have this automatic if it possible.
I use PS 1.6.1.9

 You want to create xml each time the status changes or just once it's being validated/created?

everytime someone makes a order, the orderstatus become "Processing in progress" then i whant the xml generates.
Only once when the order is made.
