Add order number in new_order,html?

I want to add the order number  into the email recived when a new order is made. I tried to add a new line in the template_vars array '{order_number}'=> $order->id_order, and the call it from the new_order,html.

But it is not working.

Path for mailalerts.php:

modules/mailalerts/mailalerts.php

Path for new_order,html:

themes/metrofas/modules/mailalerts/mails/es/new_order.html
