EverythingsOverpriced
I've been testing the latest version of 1.7x and 1.6x for a few months now and I have run into some major problems using both, but many (not all) of the problems do not appear when using different browsers. My main browser is Chrome on windows 10, but I also use Firefox a lot. My client for whom the website is being built for uses Safari and Chrome on a Mac. We have both run into issues, call them bugs or whatever, that do not exist when we switch browser or OS. I know that sometimes a CMS is designed to be best worked with using a specific browser, for example Microsoft Sharepoint works much better with Internet Explorer or Edge So what about Prestashop? Here is an example (screenshot attached) of a serious problem I have with the vouchers (price rules) admin page with Chrome on windows 10, but the problem does not exist with Chrome on a Mac. In this example, tabs, calendar popups and other selectors do not work at all. Another problem I have with Chrome-w10 is that I cannot upload new images for Carriers, but it's fine in FF-w10. I find this inconvenient, but I can handle switching browsers to do some tasks. My client who isn't a very computer literate person, just an everyday user trying to run a website for the first time, will have problems. So what is best practice for administration of PS 1.6? EverythingsOverpriced
I've created a little Poll to get some data about this. I would be great if people could also explain why they use that browser and if it is because PS demands they use it, or if it's just their default. Thanks all. bellini13
I use Chrome and Firefox on windows 10 exclusively with PS and have never encountered issues that you have described.

OK that's interesting. I'm currently using the PS 1.6.1.17 (the most recent version) with the most recent versions of Chrome and FF with a fully updated version of win-10. selectshop.at
The most stable version of Prestashop is 1.6. I'm using Opera and FF. I'm not satisfied with latest FF update. Some important and also developer addons are not working anymore. I've also installed Chrome, but rarely use it.
El Patron
if one finds issues with testing 1.7 and adds forget ticket this helps the PrestaShop community. so I challenge you to open forget tickets when you have native issue. Posting in forum and not forge is like bird flying through the air, it leaves no trace. Right now any 1.7 issue is getting attention by PrestaShop team which makes it fun. Agree with selectshop.at for non-advanced PrestaShopper with existing shop stay with 1.6 for now, for new shops that don't mind having to solve some basic features that should work out of the box then start with 1.7. Happy prestashopping, Fred
