back to prestashop what version to start with

Hi all

i've been using prestashop for two years but in last 6 months i was using magento latest version 

but i'm not feeling Comfortable as i'm in prestashop 

so i deiced to  back again to prestashop

but when i left prestashop the version 1.7 was buggy and no one recommend to work with it

but i don't know now what version to start with 1.6 or 1.7

The answer: it depends.

First you have to check if all modules that you need are available on PS1.7. There might still some carrier and payment providers missing.

If all you need you can have on PS1.7 go for it.

Less features = some stripped out to make you buy modules.

I recently tried 1.7 and ran into some issues, but the main issue was caused by the Jakiro theme purchased from a third party website called Themeforest.

I went back to 1.6 which, in my opinion, is a much nicer version and so far the theme has no significant issues.

1.6 does indeed appear to have more features and I prefer the back office in 1.6, but that is just an opinion. You may prefer it.

I have read mixed reviews of 1.7, but some say it is stable, so it may be OK to use. 

If you're going to use a 3rd party theme I recommend you test everything thoroughly, as always

Just to mention one, to expand on my previous reply, consider you don't even have a one page checkout anymore

i've checked poth 1.6 and 1.7

but honestly 1.7 extremely fast

I recommend new  builds 1.7 but would suggest that people running earlier versions wait a bit  longer to make upgrade.  As for one page checkout (fabio) the native OPC is much better than that old fugly one in 1.6 and last time I  checked my fav 3rd party opc module was not ready for 1.7.  doh!
