Prestashop 1.6.1.7, Default Display Message to Customer to "Yes"

Hi there,

in Backoffice orders admin, after opening an order, there is a sidebar on the right which allows sending predefined messages to customers. Per default, one message is predefined which is "delay" but more messages can be created for all languages.

In this standard message module, there is the slider asking "Display to customer?" which is "NO" by default.

When a message is sent, and the slider was still set to "NO", the message will actually not get sent to the customer, but it will appear in the message thread.

Does anybody have a hint how the default can be changed to "YES"?

Thank you!

Hi and sorry for reviving necro.

I have very same issue. I need to change behavior of described button, as in screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/Gd17oSBOukw

I have found mailalerts module, however it does not change default behavior of this option. I believe that marked option "Order edit" (screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/eB16N195nk6 ) should be responsible for sending notifications to a customer when an order has been edited. However I still need to switch aforementioned button as in first screenshot. If this button is set to "No", it overrides mailalerts module behavior, therefore not send anything.

Any idea on different solution?

Also for me this issue is still unsolved. The hint from ndiaga turned out to be inaccurate. No such option available in the menu, as pointed out by Rail Balco. So I'm still frequently not sending messages to customers because of the default value set to "NO" and I forget to switch to "YES". I am running version 1.6.1.7.

Worked like a charm. Path is the same in my version, also the file looks identical. All I had to do is move the tag checked="checked" from the line visibility off to the line visibility on.

In my file, those two entries were at lines 843 and 847.

Success!
