Can not find module for main menu

Hi, I have been given a prestashop website to be fixed. The problem is that i have to change the tabbed horizontal menu into a left side vertical navigation menu. To start with that, i need to first determine which module is responsible for the menu to be changed. I cannot seem to find that module but only a hook= h "mainmenu"; in the header.tpl file. I am aware that its usually the top horizontal menu or something of the sort in the header or displayNav position in the dashboard to account for this but in my website deactivating Top Horizontal Menu makes no difference to that menu (It changes the layout of another menu at the body).

 

Moreover, i change the name of the categories in that menu in Catalog->Categories but even with proper manual cache cleaning, It makes no difference to my site. The changes are not implemented.

 

Am i facing these issues because of hard coding somewhere at back end? Are these admin issues? Because i have tried changing names in the database phpmyadmin too. Can someone please help me with this or tell me a good way to approach this problem?
