Steveio
Hi, I have Guest checkout enabled. When a customer places an order and then tries to place a second order using the same email address again, I get the following error message; There is 1 error An account using this email address has already been registered. I have tried doing what is explained in the following 2 links but nothing is working? https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/450822-skip-an-account-using-this-email-address-has-already-been-registered-prestashop-156/ http://presta.[spam-filter]/index.php?action=6 I imagine it must be possible because customers quite often buy things from the same website more than once using their same email address. bellini13
Guest and Customers are different types of customers in Prestashop. If you are receiving the following error when performing a Guest checkout, then it likely means that you already have a CUSTOMER using that same address. An account using this email address has already been registered. You should research that better, and search your customers for the email address in question, and confirm if the existing customers are GUESTS or actual CUSTOMERS
Steveio
I'm sorry I don't understand. I thought that as soon as a guest buys something using guest checkout they become a customer? Ever since I have had my website setup I have had Guest checkout enabled. Every guest checking out has resulted in them becoming a customer and their email address being stored in the BO. None of my customers have ever had to sign up for an account.
Steveio
Please ignore my last post. I have now found the problem. The email address I was testing with had been used in the past to register an account before the guest checkout was enabled. So anyone who has registered for an account cannot then checkout as a guest.
